lonely plants

This morning, we got a commissioner to sign Raspberry’s name change form, which we mailed off in the afternoon. The building in which the legal clinic was located had several lonely potted plants to spruce up the ambience, but I think the effort failed quite miserably.

  1. 1. I’m so jealous of your lack of clothing! I’m still wearing my chunky scarf, wool coat, boots, and gloves. Sigh!

    2. There’s something about fake plants indoors, ehh?

    3. What’s Raspberry’s new name going to be?

  2. I’m glad that you decided on a name. I forgot to tell you that my dentist uses her middle name rather than her first name, but sometimes she includes the first name initial. Her first name is Nancy and her middle name is Summer. So even if Raspberry gets sick of being called Raspberry in the future, she would be able to do that. Most people, it seems, tend to want to be called by their more unique name.

  3. 1. Raspberry and I looked at vancouver’s weather this morning. Man, you guys have some sucky weather! I’d hate to tell you what it’s been like here… you’d hate me.

    2. Not just fake indoor plants, but fake randomly-placed indoor plants. Highly amusing.

    3. We’ve just added “Raspberry” as her first name and everything else is now her middle names. Her last name remains the same, of course.

  4. That reminds me of a prof I had who went by her middle name and on official stuff, would use her first name initial. I’d imagine Raspberry would be the kind of person who’d prefer a unique name, normality begone. But, like you said, at least she’s got the option of being so-called “normal” if she wants. Ha ha.

  5. 1. Mornings are chilly! (Frost on the ground even) but it’s gloriously sunny these past few afternoons! So excited for Spring.

    2. The randomness can be totally amusing!

    3. Neato. tinyspanky’s comment makes me think of how one day Rb might become R. Aurora Yow-Fairs. So classy. Haha.

  6. 1. But that’s the best though… your day just gets better! I like the days where the rain comes overnight and it’s nice all day.

    3. If she ever becomes R. Aurora Yow-Fairs and wears pearls and suits and puts her hair up in a tight bun, I’ll do nothing but roll my eyes at her.
